GREETER
(1 or 2 people per shift)
-Welcomes blood donors to the drive
-Explains registration form to blood donor
-Controls access to blood drive site; only donors and volunteers are allowed
in driveCANTEEN WORKER
(2 people per shift)
-Prepares and sets table for donors
-Restocks refreshments on the table
-Serves refreshments to donors
-Monitors donors for reactions
UNLOADERS
(must be able to lift 50 pounds)
-Must be available when Red Cross truck arrives (2 hours before drive starts)
-Must clear room of extra furniture, etc
-Help unload truck and set up blood drive according to mobile driver
RELOADERS
(must be able to lift 50 pounds)
-Help breakdown drive and load equipment into truck (at closing time of
drive)
-Must return room furniture to normal layout
CANTEEN
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide food items for canteen area of blood drive
according to Red Cross guidelines
-Set up canteen before blood drive begins
-Return any loaned canteen items (example: McDonalds juice coolers)
FOOD ITEMS FOR CANTEEN
The minimum requirement for your canteen is cookies,
water, and juice.
Cookies - Cookies can be donated by area stores, bakeries, or home
baked. Plan about 4-5 cookies per donor.
Juice - Juice can be donated by area grocery
stores or McDonalds/Burger King
restaurants. The restaurants may also include the juice
cooler and ice to pour
and store the juice throughout the day. If juice is to be purchased or donated
by grocery store 6 gallons would be needed
Paper products - Plates, napkins &
cups

We encourage you to have other food items
available for blood donors
IDEAS
-Get pizzas donated by a local pizzeria
-Get sandwiches, subs, or sandwich makings donated by a local store or restaurant
